We are a youth forum based in Waterloo, set up in 2003 for young people aged 10-21 years old.
SE1 United has established itself as a prominent focal point for social and educational rehabilitation and engagement, led by and for young people across the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark. Our innovative programme of events, cultural opportunities, mentoring, training and educational support reach over 5,000 vulnerable young people (aged 10-21) each year. Through all our work we seek to address the social and economic challenges young people from all cultural backgrounds in Lambeth and Southwark face on a daily basis by:
• Providing them a positive platform for self-expression and peer leadership;
• Raising their aspirations and offering opportunities for personal, social, cultural and academic development; and ultimately
• Promoting a positive image of young people within both local communities and across London.
SE1United works in partnership with many other youth organisations and positively engages over 1000 young people annually through large scale events, conferences, consultations, residential trips, cultural activities and youth leadership projects.
Following a longstanding relationship, SE1 United's current residency at Southbank Centre has already led the two organisations to engage in a huge variety of partnership projects such as Takeover -
the final show of Southbank Centre's Emerging Artists in Residence, Find Your Talent, London Fashion Week, Walking in My Mind Sculpture Project and the highly successful
E4 Udderbelly Training Academy.
